Jackie has fulfilled her research into the effects of a heated rug on show jumpers. There will be more information on this once the product has been launched.

Emma Hawthorne - Foundation certificate Level I Thermographer

Emma comes from a farming, hunting, racing background she has always been involved in horses one way or another.  Emma worked in hunt service for a season, then went to France and worked at the Haras Nationel at Compiegne near Paris {French National Stud} Emma worked for a time at Runnings Park Stud for 2 foaling seasons, she also went to Business college in London and then on to Agricultural College with a bias to livestock. After leaving college Emma went to work for the Agricultural Training Board for 4 years.  Emma married in 1981 and became a partner in the Family’s agricultural contracting business making sure she still always had a horse or two to hunt and compete on.

In 2000 Emma became interested in the rehabilitation of horses and saw there was a gap in the market so she made her plans and developed her own business in 2005 'Flawborough Equine' Emma trained in using Cold Salt Water Spa for injuries and rehabilitation during  2010 Emma started her training in Equine thermography initially starting with the Foundation Certificate then onto the Diploma. Emma business is growing in recognition as one of the Uk's top rehabilitation centre's able to offer full rehabilitation services to the equine industry.

Sandie's comments:

"I have seen in Emma a woman with drive and determination to make a difference in the Equine Industry. Emma has a rapport not just with horses but with her clients and everyone she meets. Emma is providing her rehabilitation horses with a tool that monitors their healing as soon as they enter her premises and ensures that they don't leave her until she is happy with the thermography results ensuring that they are injury free. Emma is currently working very closely with Equitherm to ensure she maximised her skills as an advanced Thermographer, I am very happy to have such a dedicated and determined person in our team."

Jackie Lockett - Foundation Level I Thermographer

Jackie Lockett has been involved with horses for the majority of her life.  She understands the demand on performance horses and the importance of monitoring training, stress and saddle fit.  Jackie was British National Champion in endurance in 2004 winning a 160km endurance race and has competed in numerous endurance and trail ride competitions with Best Condition awards and top ten results.  Jackie has also trained horses to FEI4* level and crewed for her daughter in GB World Championships in Bahrain, Europeans at Czech Republic, South Africa and The Presidents Cup Abu Dhabi.  Jackie currently owns four Arabian geldings and an Arabian mare.

 

Sandie's comments on Jackie:

 

" Jackie is a student who is conciencious and diligent. It is obvious that Jackie attacks everything she does with determination and has a will to do things right. Jackie's attention to detail will ensure that she will make an excellent Thermographer and I would not hesitate to send her out on project on behalf of Equitherm. I look forward to seeing her develop and refind her skills. I very much look forward to accepting Jackie on our Diploma course in the near future"

Jean-Pierre De-Jonghe - Foundation Level I Thermographer & Diploma Level II Thermographer

Jean-pierre de Jonghe, is from the Netherlands, In the year 1994 Jean-Pierre attended the Belgium farrier school and achieved his got my farriers Diploma. Jean -Pierre started a farrier business in the Netherlands and developed his business when 5 years later he started a riding school which had 35 horses on his premises. 

During this period  Jean-Pierrs developed an interest in horse injuries and the difficulty to find the real cause, in 2010 Jean Pierre trained to  become a fully trained EquineThermographer  in the United Kingdom, at Equitherm.

Jean Pierre sayd "Thermography became my passion and now I am owner of “Total Horse Scan” a company of equine thermography. And I am always looking for new things to learn to keep up with innovations in the equine world."     

Sandie's Comments:

"Jean-Pierre has been an inspiration to Equitherm and to other students. Jean-Pierre dedicated his attention to Thermography and achieved top grades in his training, exam and research work. Jean -pierre's attention to detail will be his success, his focus to making the world a better place for horses is his driving force. Jean-Pierre is also a joy to work with, he is not only an avid Thermographer but a thoroughly nice person who I am sure will build some fantastic trusting relationships with all whom he works with."

2009 Students first to pass their Diploma certificates. After intense training and dedication, Ellie Stacey, Peter Norris and Sinead Hughes have all passed their Equitherm Technicians Diploma. Congratulations to all three. 


TrainingWorking in association with leading professionals in the veterinarian and thermographic world Equitherm offers the UK's only training programme that is acknowledged by the UK Thermography Association, the Institute of Equine Thermography, Veterinary Institute of Thermography and the Institute of Infrared. Equitherm's courses are specifically designed to introduce the fundamental principles of Equine Thermography, the range and scope of injuries, illness and conditions that can be detected and how to apply it to equine welfare.

TrainingCongratulations to Peter Norris for passing his Foundation Level I and Diploma Level II

Peter comes form the Uk and as well as running his own business, owns a livery yard and now is branching out into rehabilitation for the Equine. Peter achieved fantastic results as a student with Equitherm and has also completed his Diploma level. Well done Peter we, look forward to working with you again in the future.

CONGRATULATIONS TO DRS GERRY VAN OOSSANEN FOR PASSING HER EQUINE THERMOGRAPHY LEVEL 1

Dr Gerry van Oossanen came from Holland to do her Equine Thermography Level 1. Dr Gerry Van Oossanen is one of Hollands leading veterinary specialists and will be using thermography as a complementary tool in the diagnosis of back problems and saddle fitting. We wish Dr Gerry the best of luck for the future.

CONGRATULATIONS TO RICHARD ARMSTRONG FOR PASSING HIS EQUINE THERMOGRAPHY LEVEL 1

Richard came to Equitherm to train in equine thermography. Richard is based in South Africa and they are very lucky to have him. Equitherm wish him all the best for his future and look forward to welcoming him back to complete his Level two and achieve his Diploma in Equine Thermography.

EQUINE COURSE LEADER CAROL HALL AND PHD STUDENT KELLY BURTON FROM 'NOTTINGHAM TRENT UNIVERSITY'

Carol and kelly attended a bespoke camera operators course with Equitherm. This was to enable them to effectively image horses for research purposes. Kelly is currently doing her phd and is using thermography to research the effects of behaviour in horses. We wish kelly and Carol the best of luck for the future.
